Hi everyone,

So, I applied to a select number of top schools, though with a glaring downside - below 80% GMAT. In fact it's way below. I don't know what got into me, but I hit submit anyway. Just received my first reject today, and what I guess I had a feeling about hit me now - my app is just not up to snuff this time. GPA is avg as well from a state school, with a background in real estate investment with a family business I grew up with.

I called Columbia, and they said it's a 'personal decision' whether I'd like to withdraw or not - in either case, they will see me as a re-applicant if I am applying the same year. I wonder - if you're considered a re-app anyway, how is a full denial seen as opposed to a withdrawal? Any thoughts? I know the app fee is nonrefundable, but I am willing to withdraw if it means having a more favorable review R1 in October of this year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Let the application ride. Columbia is very open to reapplicants in my experience, and since anyhow you will "be treated as a reapplicant" what have you got to lose?

If you don't get accepted, make sure you kick the heck out of that GMAT tho. (amongst other improvements)
