GMAT second time around

by acdearborn » Tue Feb 21, 2012 8:23 am
The first time I took the GMAT was a few years ago and I did pretty poorly (I got a 540, I believe). I studied with Vertias prep and I'm looking for a private tutor. Does anyone have any recommendations for a second time approach? Is it worth taking a second course with a competitor? Is it smart to get a private tutor if I'm making the same mistakes? Time mamagement is my biggest issue. Thank you!

Honestly, the best learning experience comes from a private tutor. You are able to interact with an individual who will make sure you understand each concept as opposed to a teacher making sure that the class covers each topic. Do your homework, and make sure you find someone who is qualified (at least 2 years of tutoring experience and a 99% score).

Recommendations on how to explicitly approach this attempt would be best with more information about how you studied and what areas you struggled with on the exam.

Thank you. That's what I'm thinking. Do you happen to know or recommend any tutoring serives that are located in the Chicago area that aren't over $200 and hour?
