Verbal is harder or what ?

by Stopa2 » Thu Nov 17, 2011 2:35 am
Hello everybody, can someone please help me about gmat verbal ?

I took the test 4 times. My math score is ok, but am I having some problem on the verbal area.

When I take the gmatprep cats and manhattan cats, my verbal score ranges from 35 to 40. But on the real thing my score was 22, 28, 25 and 25.

I am really feeling that the verbal on the real gmat is very very very harder than the materials that I have been studying.

Anyone feels the same ? And any tip to help me to improve my score ?

Thanks!

I would start by writing sentences with proper grammar and punctuation.

Even if it's just posting quick blurbs on forums like these.

On a side note, try using flash cards for identifying pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, subject & verb agreement, among other GMAT tested aspects.

Verbal is difficult if it isn't your primary language, but English is systematic. Start from the beginning, and make sure you have a strong fundamental base on the easy stuff. Make sure your not guessing on anything. It should get to the point where you know the answer. It shouldn't be questionable if you really understand everything.

I don't know much in which sense you are asking for verbals but in my opinion verbals can be easily improved by joining spoken english courses.
