Wharton visit

by DCJ » Fri Nov 04, 2011 10:01 pm
What if I am unable to visit Wharton before applying, does that count against me?

No, it doesn't count against you at Wharton. All the schools like for candidates to visit in advance, but Wharton doesn't penalize those who cannot. However, you *should* try to visit if you can -- you'll learn so much that you can use in your application, and you'll be able to know for sure if it's the right place for you or not. (We talk about this quite a bit on our blog: https://essaysnark.blocked/2010/06/ ... chool.html )

Lots of people visit when they get the interview invite - that's totally fine too.

But the common metaphor that's used is, bschool is a big investment. It's sort of like buying a car. Would you really buy one without ever having seen it in person (much less driven it)?

Not everyone can swing the visit of course so don't worry if you cannot.
