1. X not 0,...but X can be 1,to prove X = X^2! ..so, it's not sufficient
2. X > 1...is sufficient, because X >1, X never be equal to X^2.

i think Ans is B!

Hi- Please check the answer, it cannot be A

STATEMENT 1 says X is not equal to 0. If we take X=1, then X = X^2
But, if we take X=2 then X NOT= X^2

INSUFFICIENT.

STATEMENT 2: says x>1
This condition is sufficient to say that X NOT= X^2 for any value of X.

SO answer Should be B

Hi mate

the answer cannot be A

statement 1 is x= x^2

1) x NOT = 0

Ix =1 then the answer is yes

If x= 2 the answer is no...

So insufficient

statement 2) x> 1

It clearly says that x is more than 1 so the answer will be always no even is x is not an integer .

so sufficient

Hence B
Don't look for the incorrect things that you have done rather look for remedies....

please explain
from ques: is x = x^2 => is x(x-1) = 0 => is x = 0 or x = 1

st1: x is not 0 => x = 1
sufficient

st2: x>1
we need to find whether x is 0 or 1, however, st2 tells us neither
so insufficient.

IMO - A

Please correct me if wrong

Hi- please read my previous post for this.
It is given that x is not equal to 0. That means x can be anything ranging from 1 to infinity
You cannot say that if x is not equal to 0 then it will be 1
Hence condition A is not sufficient.
