Correct % on OG

by akhilsuhag » Thu Aug 25, 2011 10:27 am
Guys its a stupid question but please bear with me.

What percentage should a 700+ aspirant target on the OG(12ed). Basically if 700+ aspirants/getters can share their stats, so that i can judge myself it would be great.

Thanks!!

Yes You will be amazed to know that even after getting 10 incorrect answers you can still get 48....moreover in OG around 68% accuracy is safe to say around 720 -740

OG problems are usually split up into 3 categories with easy, medium and hard problems. Overall accuracy will misguide you. Try to get more accuracy on hard problems which will improve your score for 700+. It seems the number of problems with each difficulty is same. Download the OG error log available in this forum which is quite useful in identifying the difficulty and the concepts tested.

I was watching the movie "Public Enemies" yesterday about the famous Chicago Bank robber John Dillinger. Here is a quote from that movie:

Billie Frechette: They're looking at me because they're not used to having a girl in their restaurant in a $3 dress.
John Dillinger: Listen, doll. That's 'cause they're all about where people come from. The only thing that's important is where someone's going.
Billie Frechette: [smiles] Where are you going?
John Dillinger: Anywhere I want.

The point is you could even have a 0% accuracy on the OG - as long as you learn from the mistake, see the underlying patterns, and avoid them on the next set of question! You could have a high accuracy but learn nothing!

So forget about the % game (the real test is computer adaptive so it won't really matter!) and start focusing on learning the concepts and approach.
