Man CR 700+

According to a recent magazine article, of those office employees who typically work 8 hours at the office each day but sometimes say that they will work at home on a particular day, 25 percent actually work less than one hour. At the same time, over 90 percent of those same office employees believe they are more productive working at home than working in their office.

The statements above, if true, best support which of the following conclusions about the office employees discussed in the article?

a)On average, the office employees working at home for a day work fewer hours than office employees working at the office.

b)10 percent of the office employees are less productive working from home than working in their office.

c)At least 15 percent of the office employees do not define productivity exclusively in terms of the number of hours worked.

d)At least 25 percent of the office employees can complete the same amount of work in one hour at home as in 8 hours at the office.

e)Some of the office employees make statements regarding their productivity that are not in fact true.

a)On average, the office employees working at home for a day work fewer hours than office employees working at the office. average, we don't know the total number of employee. We know only that 25 % worked less than 1 hr. We dont know anything about remaining 75%.

b)10 percent of the office employees are less productive working from home than working in their office. We know 90% of employees, who worked from home, were more productive. we can't infer the above for 10 % of the office employees

c)At least 15 percent of the office employees do not define productivity exclusively in terms of the number of hours worked. We know some details of hrs worked by employees, who worked from home. But to infer any data about the all the office employees is not possible

d)At least 25 percent of the office employees can complete the same amount of work in one hour at home as in 8 hours at the office. CORRECT

e)Some of the office employees make statements regarding their productivity that are not in fact true. Intention is out of scope.

OA after some discussion

IMO E

A: cant say about the avg here because info talks about 25 % working for less than 1 Hr only, there may be 50 % who work for 12 hrs while at home! so incorrect

B: incorrect; because its their belief, but actually the case may be different

C:incorrect; because

D: incorrect; statement may be true, may not be true... we dont know!!

E: Correct; because if this 90 % includes those 25 %, then clearly the others wo are working for same hours at home and office are lying! as their productivuty is the same at both places. if this 90 % does not include all of this 25 % ; then some employees are working less at home but claimimg they are equally or more productive at home.
