Thinking about INSEAD?

by mikerobertson » Sun Jun 05, 2011 3:06 pm
In case you're considering INSEAD as one of your application choices (or even if not...) let me try to convince you!

I'm there now - here's a video we made as part of our Advertising and Social Media course (this is NOT an official video):

Hi Mike,

I am aware that INSEAD is a top notch B School. Can you tell me 5 important criteria that the School looks for in prospective applicants. Eg : How much should a decent GMAT Score be. What is the min. work ex required etc.

Thanks :)

Hi Deepti,

I am also an applicant to Insead. I talked to their North American marketing dept. The criterion is very clear and on their website.
1. Academic Excellence: GMAT + GPA
2. International Outlook: Must have worked outside home country for some time, Traveling etc.
3. Extracurricular activities: Clubs, Social Work, Sports, Hobbies etc.
4. Work Experience: Average Age: 29 so European MBA candidates are bit older with a bout 5-6 years experience but if you have less experience but absolutely staggering state / national level achievement, can surely nullify the negative effect of lack of experience. Min Work Ex= 2 years but 3-4 years is recommended.

GMAT Score:710

Hi Stacey,

The article was indeed helpful. IMD, Switzerland is pretty strict in its requirements of international experience and knowledge of other languages in addition to English.

Is Insead also in the same league ?
Cheers !!

Thanks Mike. This was a truly inspirational video to spend my next 365 days just like this one day.

Can you let me know whether connecting with a current or an alumni student is an option INSEAD admissions team provide. I am looking towards applying for 2012 admissions possibly in R2.

Regards,
Poorvi
