GMAT reappearing policy

by dv2020 » Sun Jun 26, 2011 2:06 am
Hi,

at mba.com GMAT reappearing policy says that

Q: How often can I take the GMAT exam?
A: You can take the GMAT once every 31 calendar days and no more than five times in a 12-month period.

I appeared on 24th June ie I can appear anytime after 25th july is that correct?

Hi,
Yes, you are correct. I know it is disappointing to get 650 after getting 700 long back. So, don't be in a hurry to take the test as you have mentioned you do not have enough time to prepare because of your work. So, take your time and give your best shot one last time so that you do not have to think about taking the test again. As, you have mentioned you have good work experience, your target of 700+ score will be very competitive in helping you fulfill your dream. Within the first 2-3 days after seeing your result, it is quite possible that you decide about taking the test as early as possible. Take a break for couple of days and then think about it and make a proper plan, with a comprehensive note of all the factors as only you know about yourself better than anyone else.
Good luck!
Cheers!

@DV ->I echo what Frank says DV. I also scrapped an average 650 with just over a month of prep last December. Its difficult to pump up the score over 700 in a short amount of time for most people. Some people actually manage it.(most of these people have a score heavily weighted in one of the sections as they are inherently good at it)

if u want a good rounded score, breath for some time and then back to business with a sound plan.

@Frank->Is the second line in ur signature inspired from Christopher Nolan's Batman begins ? I am a strong believer of the words.
Cheers !!

In fact, both the statements are Nolan's. I just customized them :D
line-1: 'if you're good at something.. NEVER do it for free' - Joker in TDK. But the experts @BTG help us for free right.
So, first line is for experts and second line is for members :)

Thanks guys for your replies,

The problem is time. I am persuading my employers. Chances of succeeding are low. If thats the case I am looking at Nov-Dec.
I wont appear till I'm sure about breaking 700 but how can I do that. I can't rely on GMAT prep and MANGMAT tests anymore. Even during my earlier attempts i remember doing well on GMAT prep. However I remember doing well consistently on Princeton tests before my sucessful attempt.

Which other tests you reccommend ? And I need stuff stuff which does not require internet..

@bblast are you planning to reappear
@frank how abt you have u appeared already when r u plang to do so...

Thanks
dv

OFFTOPIC @ Frank-Yup it clicked to me now-The great Joker said that in reference to killing The batman.
I am a big fan of Nolan. he's such a genius. donnno when his next movie will release.(BTW Eric pays the experts here in my knowledge- Still the contribution these experts make is priceless)

@DV- I am running on a strict 3 month self devised plan. An excel sheet holds all the key to my prep- error log progress-materials etc. I don't wanna share it publicly unless it does any substantial good to me.(Plus it has plenty to rogue language which i'LL HAVE to edit before pasting on BTG).

lemme know if u want my plan, I'll send it u offline. Else I've heard BTG 60 day plan is also Good. Difference is my plan is to move from 650 to XXX. And its not a beginners plan.
Cheers !!
