Oduste were to sell all of his shares of stock x and use that money to buy shares of stock y, by what percent would his annual dividend increase.

I was sure that answer C is correct. I plugged in numbers and cant understand how a can be solution. IF we dont know the actual values of of the stock, then the increases can be much different from case to case!
