Only thing which I learned from others who scored really well is that one must get into the depth of those 800 real GMAT questions given in OG 11th and OG 12th and that's it! rest everything is either to fill some gap or just to understand the content. But the scoring well is pretty much about Official guide.

Kan,
Just google for the same. You will get the info. There are details collected by most test prep companies.

@Victory_GMAT : Is that your personal experience ? Coz' I have heard people saying that at times the level of difficulty in the actual test was tougher than OG Questions !

@Soniamba, Kaplan 800 is an advanced book. The difficulty level is higher. So it will be a good practice material if you are good with basics.

That's where the problem is! People are not realizing the fact that merely solving all 800 questions given in OG is not enough. Finishing OG means manipulating the Quant questions and then solving them and get to the same answer because that's how to learn the "PATTERN" and Pattern recognition is the key and this makes the 51+ Quant attitude. Stick to the OG and you will see the results for sure. OG is only guide which can actually take the person to 790 if user knows how to use it or customize the study of OG according to his/her attitude/suitability.

This actually makes quite a bit of sense if interpreted correctly. If you are able to truly understand all the concepts in the OG you will be able to answer any GMAT question. This just reinforces that you should spend as much time with these practice problems as necessary to inculcate the material so that you may draw upon it when multiple concepts are combined. In my experience so far, the tougher questions are just a matter of testing several concepts at once!

Vicory_GMAT, if you can elaborate the strategy to maximise the benefit out of OG, it would be very helpful to all of us preparing for GMAT.
