MBA aspirant without workexperience

by avi.agarwal89 » Wed Jun 01, 2011 11:24 am
I have done my graduation (BCOM) from Gujarat University and scored 70%, currently doing MCOM- Part-1 to fulfill the 16 years education requirement of B-schools in USA. I will be starting my preparation for GMAT shortly. If I manage to get 650+ in GMAT is there any scope to get into a good B-School in USA for my MBA in marketing. I have been working with my dad for the past 3 yrs and have also cleared CA foundation exam. I plan to go to USA in August 2012 intake. Please tell me shall I take up GMAT.

Dear avi.agarwal89,

If you want to go to business school, especially in the US, then you will need to take the GMAT. The higher the score, the better, but you definitely want to be in the upper 600's or in the 700's as an international applicant to be competitive. I encourage you to do some research on the MBA admissions process and a thorough self-assessment of your background to determine the best strategy for your future applications.

Good luck,
Lisa
