by rahulamiable » Sun May 08, 2011 8:21 am
Dear All,

1)Can one crack GMAT with score of around 700 or so without professional coaching i.e only on basis of self study?
2)I am thinking of giving GMAT by the end of this year or at the start of 2012 (as i have to fulfill the min eligibility criteria of some B schools (in india) of work ex, how shud i start ,i have already bought OG 12 th edition?
3) which other books shud i go for verbal, quant?
4)Do i need to have very strong vocabulary like in GRE to crack GMAT?
(P.S My only hope for getting updates is beatthegmat only...)

I need a proper guidance so that my interest and excitement is always high... :D

Hi rahulamiable,

I think it's possible to score 700+ with self study. There are a lot of materials out there to help, plus BTG is a great place to learn.
A good way to tell how far you are away from your target score is to take an official GMATPrep practice test.
Who knows, you may already be scoring at the 700+ level. :-)

A lot of students find that BTG's free 60-day study guide is a good way to keep them on track with their studies.

Cheers,
Brent
