Not sure but giving it a shot anyway.
7 have been killed by the shark, fewer than have been killed by bee stings. Sounds ok. and looks parallel.
PS: I am not sure if my logic is correct. What do you think?

@vineeshp
You are indicating parallelism concept,
My issue is i didn't understand the structure of the sentence. see
"Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark"....Independent Clause
"the man-eater of the...bla bla" modifier....
first do you really think, we should look for a parallelism thing b/w an IC and a modifier...??
Second again i do not understand how the modifier is structurally connected to the IC, how fewer than is connected to people killed in preceding clause and all...confusing structure...demotivating stuff, i thought, i'm at least good enough to interpret or understand the structure of the sentences but here m clueless

IMO B. E is incorrect because "ones" can't refer back to "people".
COMMA + the man-eater of the movies + DASH --> describes the "Shark".
It is one complete sentence.
Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark, the man-eater of the movies-less than those killed by bee stings.
XXXXXX Shark,YYYYY-XXXXXXX.

A. movies-less than those
B. movies-fewer than have been
C. movies, which is less than those
D. movies, a number lower than the people
E. movies, fewer than the ones
1) how to use hypen 2) description of shark- a modifier 3) seven people (count/uncount)(few/less)
a) wrong based on 3 - b) dont know how to use 1 - c) wrong based on 3 d)only half good e) awkward
Atul.. can you write a wiki post on hypen in here... POE by no choice going for B

A dash represent the extension of an idea or exemplies or contrasts an idea. The dash should follow right after the clause or the idea it is modifying. Use of - after the modifier 'the man-eater of the movies' is therefore incorrect. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My take on it...
The part " man-eater of the movies" is a modifying phrase that should be put in between the , the phrase modifies the shark so properly followed just after the shark word.
and when we see the sentence the later part of the sentence "less than those killed by bee stings." needs to connect to the first part of the sentence so with any other option in hand "E" sounds good to me
Please post the answer

IMO :E ..the part "less than those killed by bee stings" following hyphen seems like the idea is continuing from the " the man-eater of the movies" and doesnt connect well with the first IC... between C,D and E, the opt E provides clarity in comparison of numbers.

There are two uses of the dash. (Note: with most word processing programs you use the regular dash twice with no spaces between the dashes and the words and you should end up with one long dash.)
One: use a single dash to indicate a change in direction or thought, e.g.
I am planning to take the 10:30--no wait, the 9:30 train.
Two: use two dashes, one before and one after to set off a phrase. This use is similar to using either parentheses or commas, e.g.
The company senior management--the CEO, CFO and COO--will all be at the meeting.
The sentence could also be written:
Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark (the man-eater of the movies), fewer than have been killed by bee stings.
