Another common question we receive about the GMAT Study Guide is that a person does not have access to the books referenced in the Guide--what should he/she do?

Don't worry if you don't have the recommended resources. The Study Guide was designed in a way to allow for flexibility of materials. Brent does a great job highlighting what concepts and types of questions you should be studying for each day. So if you have different materials--just adapt the best you can!

Good luck!

Day 4 - Assignments are from Kaplan's GMAT 2010-2011 Premier with CD-ROM
I am not finding the book in nearby book stores in Kolkata, India.

OOn Monday, I will go to the other part of the city to search for the book. In India, online book store like Amazon are not very common, and the few which does offer online buying charges carries poor stock or hefty on shipping.

Anyway, so since I do not have the books other than OG12, I am lagging by a day now.

I will utilize Day 4 in going through the assignments of Day 1 to Day 3 again. Will that help? Brent kindly advice, if this plan is OK. I may need time till Monday before I can get the books.

Thanks in advance.
Thanks

I have got only OG 12, OG Math, OG Verbal...

Refused to follow the The 60-Day GMAT Study Guide and decided just to scan the topics etc.

But to tell the truth, it is sad that such a good program was left away.

However, you guys are doing great job! Thanks!

Hi nishantvarma,

That book will do.
Here's the main difference: on a certain Day, the directions might read something like "In the Kaplan book, read pages 123-129 to learn about Distance-Rate-Time questions." If you have a different book, you will have to find the pages that address the given topic for the day (in this case, Distance-Rate-Time questions).

I hope that helps.

Sincerely,
Brent

Hey Brent,

That's a pretty innovative methodology - combining books and the internet.

Good luck with the initiative.

I currently have the Kaplan GMAT Course Book from taking the class. Will this be a sufficient replacement for the Kaplan Premier book? Also, I still have access to the Kaplan online material you get when you take the course.

I can't speak to the Course Book since I haven't seen it. You may want to ask your teacher whether the Course Book is similar to the Kaplan Premier book. I suspect that they are a bit different.

Hi,

I have Kaplan's Comprehensive program 2009 edition. is it too much different from Kaplan's GMAT 2010-2011 Premier?. Kindly advise if i can stick to 2009 edition and start off with 60 day guide.

I can't speak to the Kaplan Comprehensive 2009 book because I've never reviewed it. However, Kaplan Comprehensive is a different series than Kaplan Premier. You can probably follow the guide with the Comprehensive book but you will need to adjust to the differences in page numbers/problem numbers cited in the guide.

All the best!
