Community colleges

by winnerhere » Mon Feb 21, 2011 10:22 pm
Hi all,

I have GPA score of 2.8 . I would like to compensate it by completing few MBA realted courses in Community colleges.

But in India the community colleges have not yet got popular.

1) Is it possible to do the courses online from any US community collges?

2) Do the MBA admission committee value the online courses?

Please provide some insights

Thanks in advance,
Sai

Sai,

Yes, online courses are fine for the purposes of building an alternate transcript, just be sure that the school (whether a community college or university) is accredited. The courses that business schools consider "core" are calculus, microeconomics, statistics, and financial accounting.

Good luck,

Hi Paul,

Sorry fro bothering you again.

As an Indian, I find it difficult to find the worthy online community colleges in U.S. It will be really helpful if you throw some light on the colleges that will be really worthy and also the number of courses one can take to have an alternate transcript

Thanks bizschoolprep for suggesting CABM Certification.

But i have my own doubvts about CABM . Apart from only 5-6 big league schools who onsider CABM as an additional Academic achievement , no one else authenticates this certification.

Please let us know on that.

Thanks!
Ashish

Hi Ashish,

We send CABM Transcripts to every school to which a CABM applies. There are many CABMs who are successfully admitted to business schools other than those who have 'officially' recognized the Credential.

The CABM's primary benefit is increased business knowledge to assist you on the job or in the MBA classroom since you are exposed to all areas of business. The secondary , if not tertiary, benefit is MBA Admissions.
