Guys am planning to appear in GMAT in 40 days time. Have appeared once in Sep. managed a score of 640. Stopped preparations after that. The bug has again hit me. Based on experience I feel it should be adequate any ways GMAT doesn't need a slog of 18 hours a day and it is more of what you have learned in your basics English and maths classes.
I shall remain posted and take help from you guys on a daily basis, during course of my preparations please help.

Well , I agree with you that you don't need to slog for 18 hours or for that matter even 8-10 a day to do really well. As far as the GMAT testing the basics of Maths and Verbal, I don't think that's true . That is true if you talk about lower difficulty questions but when it comes to higher difficulty questions , you really need to have good command over the concepts, which sometimes may not necessarily be basic. All said and done, the GMAT doesn't test for becoming a rocket scientist, so it's not difficult but sometimes the questions can get tricky at higher difficulty levels.
