in the quant forum i tend to see a lot of questions dealing with number properties and general inequalities, but not as many questions dealing with probability, rates, etc. is the quant section of the real test more heavily weighted towards number properties, etc. or is it an even spread?

I think your experience is going to be completely random. On my test, for probability, rates, and combinatorics, I only saw about one each. However, I've heard of people encountering more than that.
In my personal experience, number properties, inequalities, VICs, and word translation were the majority of quant problems I experienced.
