UNC interview invitation : help needed

by Pdgmat2010 » Fri Oct 22, 2010 9:33 pm
Hello,
I uploaded the following details on my online application for UNC
1. GMAT scores
2. Personal history, employment history
3. Resume

I got an invitation to interview today from UNC.
I have not yet uploaded my essays.
Do you think its advisable for me to schedule an interview now or should i wait for the Dec 3 R2 deadline when my essays will also be available online.

Should i ask my recommenders to submit their recommendations before i schedule an interview?
Am really confused about what that e-mail means and will it affect my chances if i choose to schedule an interview early.

Regards,
Pranjali

I would also like to know,
how strict is the word limit for the essays and is it acceptable that the essay exceeds by a few words ( after thorough editing and reviewing)
i.e. is a 520 word essay acceptable where the word limit is specified as 500 words?

Pdgmat2010 -

Congratulations on receiving an invitation to interview at UNC.

You can find answers to all of your questions on their website. The interviewers will not have read your application, only your resume. So, you do not need to wait to submit your essays or recommendations to schedule your interview.

For further information, please review their website.

Thanks Jennifer.
After the initial shock :) I went through the details carefully and opted for an alumni interview rather than a telephonic interview.

Just wanted to know ( maybe a very silly question)
but do i need to wear a suit for the interview?

Just ensuring so that I dont make a bad impression :(

Cheers,
Pd

Why risk it? Think of it like an interview for your dream job.
Wear a suit.

thanks Jennifer.
Couldn't agree more!
I got myself a ready suit yesterday and now I have given it for further alterations to a tailor.

hope it turns out well :)
Fingers crossed !!
