Median Coffee blend

#1 What is the median number of employees assigned per project for the projects at Company Z?

1) 25% of the projects at Company Z have 4 or more employees assigned tto each project
2) 35% of the projects at Company Z have 2 or fewer employees assigned to each project


#2 One Kilogram of a certain coffee blend consists of X kilogram of Type I coffee and y kilogram of Type II coffee. The cost of the blend is C dollars per kilogram, where C=6.5x + 8.5y. Is x<0.8
1) y>0.15
2) C>= 7.3

interesting problem.

higher end has 25%
and lower end has 35% of average number of employees.
so there still will be 40% (which comes in the middle of two extremes) of projects which have exact threee employees assigned.

therefore median has to be 3 fit in 35% to 75% of ^ave.-persons-per-project^
ANSWER: both alone are not sufficient but together sufficient.

AGAIN interesting problem.
check ( cautious) while dealing with ^IS^ & yes or no type of problems: they are notorious. :)

clearly single inequalities are not sufficient to have a solution.

so if we take both of given conditions simultaneously::::

we can check the formula by putting extreme values.
note that the given data has y is greater than 0.15 while
required problem asks us to check whether x is less than 0.8

(....that clearly tells us the answer as E)

still we should substitute some random value to x and y.
note that x+y=1 kg.

I am not sure about your answer...

Consider that C=6.5X+8.5Y>=7.3 and X+Y=1

Then 6.5X+(1-X)8.5>=7.3
1.2>=2X
0.6>=X, meaning that "B" is correct...

Please comment.
