In some countries TV and radio programs are carefully censored for offensive language and behavior. In other countries, there is little or no censorship

Tv and radio programs are strong modes of communication with the entire world. Many people rely solely on television programs and radio programs for their contact with the outside world due to several constraints and it is very important not to use a language, which will have a negative impact on the listener. For a nation that is growing, a television or a radio can be a connecting link between the individual citizens of a nation and a tv or a radio can help to keep them glued. Though,at times, restriction can filter out important messages and the entire purpose of a particular program can be jeopardised. But, In my opinion, I think it is very important to have a filter on what is shown to the entire nation.
I would like to illustrate my opinion with a few examples.
To start with,in a village where women and children have minimal contact with the outside world, a radio program may be their only source of contact with the outside world. Probably,it is the only way they can connect with the world and know about what is happening and what is not.These kids are the future of the country and if they grow up listening to abusive language and watching irrational behaviour on the television, how will a country grow?It is very important to make sure that the upbringing of a kid,who is the future of every nation,is in a very healthy environment. Inspite of the restrictions imposed by parents it might not be possible to alienate a kid from a tv or a radio.
In a big family which is not very rich,chances are that there is just one television in the house and everyone sits together to watch the television. In such a situation it might not be possible to ask someone to not sit or join the family just because a particular program is not suitable for his.her age. A particular program is watched by all the members of the family of different age group and it might have different impact on different people. Since the maturity level of different age groups is not same, it is very important to show programs which will not harm people or have a negative impact on any age group.
Easier said than done,there are times when a particular message needs to be circulated to the entire nation and there is no nice way to do it than use strong language or potray behaviour which is not very human. For example movies like bhagat sing,which tells the entire nation how difficult it was to achieve the freedom it is enjoying now. The situation that existed at the time of the war cannot be shown in a very romantic manner. The violence shown in these programs might have a negative impact on few people,but it is very important to understand the message and the necessity behind the violence.
Thus, a censor board can be an important factor,which can restrict the flow of improper behaviour and language to the audience. The population of a nation consists of people of all age group and different maturity level and it is very important to show them the right kind of material to help the nation grow in the right direction.
