% correct while studying??

by JiuJitsuGuy » Thu Aug 12, 2010 9:26 am
I am concerned that my % correct while studying is not as good as it should be. I am currently on Day 11 and have 74% correct on PS and 61% correct on DS.

Should I be concerned with this? What type of percentages are others getting?

Those scores sound pretty good. If you're happy with the Quant score on your lastest GMAT prep test, then those scores are good.

Thanks for the response, Brent. And thanks for putting together this 60 day study guide. It's definitely helpful to have a structure approach to follow.

I would be interested in hearing what % correct others who are following this guide are getting for comparison.

Nasir,

I got the impression that others weren't interested in trying to get a feel for where they stood so I never followed up with my updated percentages. I have finished all the math, getting 75% PS and 63% DS problems correct. Based on your first few days, it appears you are strong at the ever-menacing data sufficiency problems which kick my butt.

Day-5

PS = 60 %
DS = 77 %

Unlike most of you guys, I take more than a day to finish my problems.
I solve a few problems during the day while baby naps and do the majority of the problems at night.

I'm assuming if I were to solve all of these problems at one sitting, my score will be a lot worse.
I need to build my endurance but I doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

I hope we can keep these threads alive and keep each other motivated!

Kiwi,

I am doing my best to follow the plan as it is written, however, due to a busy schedule I am not always able to study each day. Generally, I attempt all problems in one sitting under timed conditions.

Since I have only recently ordered the Kaplan book that is recommended as part of this study guide, I have been revisiting previously math problems that I found tricky. Ideally, I would have moved on to vebal questions by now but it seems beneficial to me to have the Kaplan book to review verbal strategies and rules.

Good luck with your studies.
