T14 MBA's

by whatsupma » Sun Nov 18, 2007 4:29 pm
I'd like to work for a top management consulting firm (e.g. McKinsey, Bain, BCG). With only a non-profit background, can a T14 MBA (such as Fuqua or Darden) get me there?

Hi whatsupma,

Top tier consulting firms do recruit at most of the top programs, so yes, it would be helpful to have access to on-campus recruiting. Most schools publish the statistics of career placement by industry and even specific company. Since consulting companies hire large numbers of MBAs, the information should be readily available for Bain, McK and BCG.

Your background shouldn't be a problem. Once you are in school you will have to put in the effort to land your internship, which will lead to a full time job, so gaining admission to a top MBA program is still no guarantee.

Good luck!
