To find the slope of a line, we need to know 2 points on the line. Then we can subtract the y-coordinates and the x-coordinates and the slope is equal to the change in y divided by the change in x.

Statement (1) tells us that the line k passes through the point (2,0). However, there are an infinite number of lines that pass through this point and an infinite number of different slopes associated with these lines.

Statement (2) tells us that the line k passes through the point (0,3). But again, there can be any number of lines that pass through this point.

Combining (1) and (2), we know that k passes through (2,0) and (0,3). From these 2 points we can determine the slope to be:

(0-3)/(2-0) = -3/2
