The only way PQ < SR is if x < y.

Stmt 1 : suff
Stmt 2 : insuff

plz elaborate..i couldn understand how wen x>y, one segment will be greater than the other..

On a piece of paper draw two parallel lines as shown (PS and QR)
Now in order to draw a line PS longer than SR , you will have to tilt PS more and more....which means x is getting less and less (than y)

but we can extend it upwards also..I am sorry but not able to comprehend..
