720(94th percentile) Q 51 , V 36

by Gforgenius » Mon May 10, 2010 1:59 am
I took the exam today and scored 720.
First of all would like to thank this community. Gained a lot from various posts.
Though i am happy with the attempt but somehow worried about my verbal percentile.
I am a non native english speaker having close to 4 years of experience in telecom industry..
Can this verbal score hinder any chances getting into a good B school.

I plan to apply mainly for asia pacific colleges though a couple of B schools in US are also on my list.

Thanks

Hi,

I didn't find CR or RC tough. Infact while i was giving the exam, i felt i was cruising through them.
SC had a couple of tricky questions in which i was stuck between two options. But i still felt i had done ok.
I used to get approx 38-40 on all my mock tests(Manhattan+ GMATprep).. don't know what happened today..but the level is pretty close to GMAT prep.

Being an engineer, quant was always my strong point. So i didnt study too much for that. Just practiced from OG. Test had 3-4 tricky questions in DS. Rest all was pretty straightforward. Again i found the level similar to gmatprep. Manhattan offers a lot more difficult questions in its mock CAT's

thanks rajesh..

I stuck to OG for all the practice. Read all the explanations whether i attempted the question correct or not.
For SC i read manhattan SC guide, a pretty good source to get the concepts clear.

Guys, pls if anyone can share info if colleges take into account individual section score.
If yes, then which are the colleges that have a record for the same?
Can my verbal score affect my chances of making to a good B school.
Shall i take the exam again to improve the verbal percentile?
