researchers have found

Researchers have found that current generations of bees in larval stages generally have a larger penchant for dwelling near dull-looking flowers and plant leaves than their parents and adult counterparts and that the reason for this change lies in the increasing use of pesticides on the vivid flowers that once lured pollinators.

(A) a larger penchant for dwelling near dull-looking flowers and plant leaves than their parents and adult counterparts
(B) more of a penchant for dwelling near dull-looking flowers and plant leaves than their parents and adult counterparts
(C) a larger penchant for dwelling near dull-looking flowers and plant leaves than that of their parents and adult counterparts
(D) more of a penchant for dwelling near dull-looking flowers and plant leaves than their parents and adult counterparts had
(E) an increasing in the penchant for dwelling near dull-looking flowers and plant leaves that their parents and adult counterparts had

OA: D

first thing is to understand the context of s/c its meaning and structure
here the s/c is comparing the action or behaviour of current generation bees to their parents and adult counterparts
so bth the things has to be llel

a)illogical comparison current generations of bees having a larger penchant is incorrectly compared to pearents
b)same as a
c)same as a
d)correct
e)awakard .

I found C option more logical than D.

(only problem with C is that we cant say penchant is larger ... that that of......somebody else. although am not
100 % sure )

but in case od D , how u can use HAD for counterpart.... That means they no longer have penchant .... :)

Expert ... Ron.. Stacy.. Plz comment..

Thanks!

I would go for D....larger is incorrect to modify the term "penchant"....
It should have been greater....

Hence option D is ok...AlSO had there been "greater" instead of "larger" in CASE A then it would have been correct....
