A Scale and Intensity

A scale is desinged such that an increase of 10 on the scale represents a multiplication by 10 of the corresponding intensity.The intensity corresponding to a measurement of 73 on this scale is how many times the intensity corresponding to a measurement of 43?

A. 30
B. 100
C. 300
D. 1,000
E. 10,000


Please help me to set up an algebraic equation and then solve!!

(a+10, 10b)
(a+10n, b*10^n)

(43, b)
(43+10(3), b*10^3)

Answer = 10^3
