How strict are schools with the word limits? For instance, if the limit is 600 words is it ok to exceed the limit by 25 words or so? here's a list of schools I am applying to in case each school handles this differently:
HBS
Booth
Kellogg
Darden
Sloan
Thanks in advance.

Dear Tribetiger,
I advise all of my clients to stick to the word/page limit. You do run a risk if you go over. Some schools will not read past the limit, and all will probably view you negatively for not following directions. You only have 25 words--you can shave those off to meet the limit.
Good luck,
Lisa
