GPrep, Digits

by LFalken » Mon Sep 07, 2009 9:36 am
On most recent Gmat prep test...

Is the hundreds digit of the decimal d greater than 5?

(1) the tenths digit of 10d is 7

(2) the thousands digit of d/10 is 7

If someone could show me how to do this one, I would greatly appreciate it, test in 4 days.

IMO answer is D

Our decimal in question is .0x and we need to know if x is greater than 5

Statement I) .0x(10) equals .x
x=7 plug back into the original, sufficient

Statement II) .0x/10 equals .00x
x=7 same as above.

Same as you btw, test in 4 days. good luck.
