Temporary employees

Of the 12 temporary employees in a certain company, 4 will be hired as permanent employees. If 5 of the 12 temporary employees are women, how many of the possible groups of 4 temporay employees consists of 3 women and 1 man?

5 Women -- 7 Men

You have to choose 3W and 1M.

You can choose 3W from 5W in (5 choose 3) ways = 5!/3!2! = 10 ways

You can choose 1 man from 7 men in 7 ways.

So you have 10*7 = 70 ways to choose.

wouldn't we have to consider somehow that the the 4 permanent employees could be all women, and that 4 permanent employees means only 8 temp left?
