Do you use RSS feeds for this community?

by beatthegmat » Mon Jul 28, 2008 8:30 pm
Hi Beat The GMAT community:

I've been encountering issues with the Beat The GMAT community RSS feeds. There seems to be a complicated issue of posts from this forum missing in Google Reader.

I'm thinking about scrapping the RSS feeds completely because I suspect very few people are using them. Before I make any final decision, I'd like to poll the community on usage.

Can you please take 3 seconds to vote? Thanks!

Hi Eric,

I tried to used it but feels better by browsing the forum directly rather than watching it via feed. It's something like you want to touch the clothes before really buying it online (at least in India, people think so).

Weird Comparison ??? Didn't find the better one. :D

Also, people don't know much about usage or using the RSS feed. So, in my personal opinion, I think you can really scrap it.

Thanks codesnooker for the feedback. Yeah, hearing your comments plus some other folks' leads me to believe that we don't need to expend energy trying to fix the RSS feeds for now. Don't seem to be adopted much.

And yes, I definitely understand your metaphor. :)

Guys,

This RSS is a great features provided by BTG. This is the only feature which has helped me to track idividual questions without surfing the site. This is superb features....I would like to see the sub-categories though viz. Number properties,Geometry etc.

This would help to practise target area without surfing around much as I have found that there are so many wonderfull post I tend to carried away everytime, :-)

Good to see there's at least one who uses RSS feeds

about your query I would say it's good to get carried away in such scenarios ;). Sadly we cannot ^filter^ out from the feeds. we either get all or none. :(

But there's alternative way: Try Google search alerts & in search terms put your words
(eg. probability site:www.beatthegmat.com ) replace probability by any other phrase...
