650+ difficulty Verbal questions

by danimmm » Wed Mar 11, 2009 4:52 pm
I'm looking for some hard verbal questions.
in the range of 650+

In the OG I solve the problems in about 85% and still scored 19 (!!!) at the verbal a week ago.

Were can I get HARD questions?

I find it very strange that you could get 85% of the OG verbal questions correct yet still score only a 19 on the verbal. Is it possible that your real problem is that you are unable to concentrate and make judgments quickly under test conditions (i.e., the timer clock, the stress, etc.)?

If I am correct, then you don't need to find tougher verbal practice questions. You need to find a way to adapt to fast-paced, stressful test conditions.

My advice is two-fold:

1) buy a cheap timer clock at Radio Shack (they cost about $12.00)
2) take lots of sample LSAT tests while setting the clock for 35 minutes for each verbal section.

At first, you will discover that you are unable to answer all the LSAT questions in each section in 35 minutes. But if you keep working on it for a month or two, you will get quicker, and you will get better at making split-second judgments on the reading comp and critical reasoning questions.

I think if you follow this advice, you will find that your verbal GMAT score improves considerably.

Just my suggestion. Good luck.

Maybe...
But as far as I know myself, I don't have stress issues. I scored 26 at the GMATPrep, and found that the texts of RC and CR at the tests are MUCH are harder for me than the ones in the book.

English in not my mother language.

That's interesting. I would have thought that the difficulty level of the questions between the book and the test is comparable.

comparing difficulty from OG to GMATPrep is tricky because in OG you're exposed to all difficulty levels, but GMATPrep is adaptive so you get mostly questions that you find difficult.
