Hello guys,

I have a question, while applying for GMAT, I believe, we get to specify 5 colleges for applying.

My question is, Is it a must that I have to specify the 5 colleges, while applying for GMAT? OR is it possible that, I can inform GMAC to send my GMAT score to a particular college, after taking the GMAT?

Thanks and regards,
Nikhil

Hi kulksnikhil:

It is NOT necessary to specify 5 MBA programs when you are taking your GMAT. You can certainly do so after you've taken the test, but you must pay a fee for each school you send your scores to.

The advantage of specifying the 5 schools during the day of your test is that it is free.

Eric

I have few queries on this topic.

1. How can I choose 5 schools without my score in hand.
2. Does selecting a school in GMAT mean applying for it.

It is a little awkward submitting your scores to 5 schools prior to taking the test--but unfortunately, that's how GMAC has set up the system. This is the only opportunity you have to submit scores to schools for free.

Selecting a school to receive your score does NOT mean you are applying for it!

Just an additional question to the above.

I'm taking the GMAT next week, but I don't plan to apply to B-schools for another year or two.

If I select the 5 schools now, does that mean I don't have to pay for these schools to verify my scores _year(s)_ down the line?

Codes

by naturago91 » Sat Jun 02, 2007 6:24 pm
Another question, are the codes of the school on the screen to choose from or should we find it and write it down before hand? Or do we just choose by school name. Thanks!

They should provide you the codes.

Hi everyone,

When the score reports go out to the 5 schools I selected, do the schools only see the scores/percentiles or do they also get to see:

what other schools I'm sending my scores to ?

my responses to the gmac questions ?

I don't think schools can see what other schools you're applying to...but they will see your AWA responses.

Eric, thx for your reply.

I emailed PearsonVUE again(tried couple times before with no response) and the following is their response to my question:
When the score reports go out to the 5 schools I selected during the exam, do the schools only see the scores/percentiles or do they also get to see:
1. what other schools I'm sending my scores to ?
2. my responses to the gmac/background questions or just the "self-reported test taker information" that appears on the score report that was mailed to me ?

PearsonVUE:
"Each school will not be able to view any of that information you are inquiring about. They will only see the actual scores, when you tested, and basic candidate details."

How much is the fee to send it afterwards?
It must have been love...but it's over now!

Correct - once you send the scores to a school, they have them on record until the scores become invalid (after 5 years).

You may request for additional reports to be sent to schools through the GMAT website at www.mba.com.There is an additional charge of US$ 28 for each additional report requested.

Best wishes,
