Hi All,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Rahul Gupta and I will be the moderator for the quantitative forums at Beat the GMAT :-)

A little bit about myself: I have a PhD in Materials Science and had the opportunity to work with a Nobel Laureate for my PhD (Prof. Alan Heeger: Click here to look him up on Google). Currently I am a Technology Program Manager at AKT (part of Applied Materials) in the California Bay area helping develop the large flat panel TV's you all love to own or hope to own someday :-)

I took my GMAT last year after attending a session at Testpundit (https://www.testpundit.com) and scored 770. Since then I have become a part of the Testpundit team and have been teaching at Testpundit. I hope I can help you folks if you have questions.

I wish you all the best of luck for your GMAT preparations and hope you find this wonderful forum to be helpful.

Have fun cracking the GMAT.

Rahul

Hi Rahul this is Krishnakanth. Nice to know about you. I need some help from you. I m from elec and comm. engg background from one of those nondescript colleges in india in the southern state of AP. I did study real; hard but then my GPA is screwed up. I m planning my GMAT in sept ending.. and aiming for ISB. I have a good name behind me interms of experience and as an added advantage have a ISB grad as my manager and Kellogg grad as my Project manager. so i guess they can help me. But then as i read ur profile, I was tempted to ask this question.
I am interested in doing masters in electronics field like VLSI, Digital signal processing, but then i have been out of touch of my subject since last 4 yrs. and I would like to do MBA in next 2-3 yrs. and then do a MS. so is this something that is good to plan.. or does this sound extremely illogical to do.

Dear Rahul

Hearty welcome to you...

I wonder why so many Indians are in this forum?

Even most of the moderators are also Indians. Any particular reason for this?

Thank you.

hi beatthegmat..

seems that after initial euphoria , the excitement levels have gone down in the fora. I was expecting but then was utterly disappointed.

Hi KK:

I'm sorry that you feel that way--however, I believe that it is too early to write off this forum completely. The Beat The GMAT! Forum is only three months old--it takes time to build a community from scratch.

Moreover, I have been working very hard behind the scenes to provide new and exciting services to our members in the near future. I think you are going to be pleased by what is delivered.

Finally, I'd like to remind you that this forum is a community service project in which all profits/donations are given back to its users in the form of scholarships and services. The more active and attractive the community, the more the community will benefit. I need the help of smart members like yourself (the founding members) to seed content and spread the word.

We have a tremendous opportunity to build a vibrant and unique GMAT community! I have faith that we can make it happen.

Thanks for your honest feedback, KK!

I extend all of my support

Hi Eric.

I really believe that you are doing an amazing job. I don have anything against the site and as a matter of fact whenever I lose momentum, I just need to come to the site and I regain my desire to beat the gmat.

You have my full support in making this site a huge success.

I would soon be adding a lot of material that I myself collected while preparing GMAT.

Wishing you all the best again..

TestPundit will no longer serve as subject-matter experts for this website. These folks don't have the bandwidth to serve this forum.

I'll be on the lookout for new expert moderators! If you are interested in serving as a GMAT math moderator for this forum, please contact me.
