GMAT timer - does it count up or down? - The Beat The GMAT Forum - Expert GMAT Help & MBA Admissions Advice

Hello, would you please help understand how the formal GMAT test timer work. Does it count up or down? Does it show seconds or only minutes? Does it count down to the last minute/second?
Lastly, please confirm that it's shown at all times.

Thanks a lot! My test is in 5 days and I'm already feaking out.

It counts down, and it shows seconds. Kinda stressful!
