Profile Evaluation for EMBA :
Indian IT Male : 34
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from India : GPA - 3.5. In top 5% of class.
Masters in Information Systems from Australia : GPA - 3.7 : In top 5% of class.
Work Experience : 12 years in the IT/Internet Sector. Have worked in two startups from their inception to multi-billion dollar companies.
Management Experience : About 6 years and ongoing. Have managed geographically diverse teams and multi-million dollar budgets. Currently responsible for the back-end operations for one of the top-5 websites in the world.
Recommendation Letters : These should be good and the CEO of my current company is willing to write one in addition to my current Director.
GMAT : 700 (q46 v41)
Target School : Wharton for EMBA :
Primary concerns :
- I am in one of the most competitive categories ( Indian IT Male )
- Though 700 is a decent score, do I need to re-take it ? ( Though I shudder at the mere thought of it...)
Any Insights/Comments would be greatly appreciated.

Since you are applying for EMBA, I think you have a competitive profile. What makes the difference for any applicant is how well you put your application together. It is imperative you present a strong rationale for why you want a MBA, how it fits into your overall career plan, and why the school you are applying to is a good match for you. Likewise, you must distinguish yourself from the competition and demonstrate successful leadership experiences.
