Apply R2 or R3 to boost my gmat score?

by nadontheway » Mon Dec 01, 2008 5:00 am
Hi,

I got 610 on my 2nd attempt on the Gmat. I will make another attempt before R2. If I can't get a higher score, do you advise me to apply to R2 or wait R3 to try to improve my score?

BTW, I am an international applicant and most schools advised to apply R2.

Thank you so much.

Unless you have a compelling reason to believe that your score will improve dramatically b/w R2 and R3 then you should apply in R2. Typically, there are very few slots left in R3 and it tends to be more competitive. You should review the Business Week rankings to get an idea of the average age of students in the top MBA programs. Your age is not a dealbreaker however you should be able to explain why you are choosing to pursue an MBA at this point in your life.
