Hi,

My profile is:

1st GMAT score: 530
2nd GMAT score: 590 ( M 48, V 24, AWA 4.5 )

Xth: 82.2 (2nd in the class)
XII: 85.6 (1st in the school)
Btech from UPTech CS: 77.2 (3rd in the class)

Two papers, on which i worked independently, accepted in a big US conference.
Two years of work Ex in Amdocs India Pvt Ltd.

I am looking to apply to MIS programs in US.

Please suggest, will my low GMAT score be mitigated?

What should I do?

I am not familiar with the requirements for MIS programs. However, if you are seeking an MBA with an IS concentration then your low GMAT scores will definitely be a factor. Admissions are extremely competitive and scores below 600 will make it difficult (if not impossible) to gain entrance into a top program.

Thanks for the quick reply.

So, should i retake the GMAT or apply with the same score?

But i will be giving the exam third time... will this make any difference?

Dear shilpishrestha,

I agree that you need to try and increase your score for the best chances. Taking the test a third time will not have a negative impact and will demonstrate your commitment to going to business school.

Good luck,
Lisa
