The following appeared in an advertising brochure carried by ChromeChannel Communication salespeople:
Pay-per-click web advertising is the best investment an advertiser can make. In the eighteen months since MacDowell's halved its television advertising and doubled its web advertising, its sales have grown by nearly 30% and it has opened forty more stores to keep up with demand. This is just one example of the fact that television advertising is on its way out, and smart businesses will continue to up their investment in pay-per-click ads.
Discuss how well reasoned you find this argument. In your discussion be sure to analyze the line of reasoning and the use of evidence in the argument. For example, you may need to consider what questionable assumptions underlie the thinking and what alternative explanations or counterexamples might weaken the conclusion. You can also discuss what sort of evidence would strengthen or refute the argument, what changes in the argument would make it more logically sound, and what, if anything, would help you better evaluate its conclusion.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The argument claims that the 'pay-per-click' web advertising(Ad) is smarter investment for advertiser than the television (TV). The conclusion is based on the premises that MacDowell's sale growth by 30% and demand for 40 more stores is the result of doubled web Ad whereas TV Ad was halfed. This conclusion is based on some assumptions which lacks proper evidences making it more dubious and unconvincing.
Firstly, the argument readily assumes that the customer whoever clicked on its web Ad went to buy MacDowell's product. However, it fails to accept the Ads were clicked by mistakes. It also might be the case that the Ad viewer just happened to click the Ad but didn't view the whole Ad; which makes it 1 click count but not adding the real Ad viewer. Thus, just the Ad click does not guarantee the Ad is view by the prospective customer.
Secondly, the argument incorrectly assumes that the soaring demand for MacDowell is mainly the result of web Ad. But, the case might be different; other way around. Customers might have watched the TV Ad which made them look for web search for its Ads and products to learn more in detail. Moreover, it might be the TV Ad that constitute its business growth.
Finally, the conclusion would have been more convincing if it had provided the survey result of customer buying its product due to Web Ad. In its absence, the conclusion full of flaw assumptions and premises.

Hi. Good essay. One thing I want to share. Usually longer essays get better scores. So make sure you write at least 500 words.
Secondly, always write 2-3 different types of flaws. You have mentioned flaws in 2 assumptions. You can add deficiency in information, raise questions, point out missing data etc to make ur essay more convincing.
