My interview went very well I thought, but I dare not get my hopes up. I was interviewed by an alumni involved with the admissions committee rather than a second-year student. I was able to connect to my interviewer on three points: she knew about a Booth friend personally and the class he recommended that I sat in, the volunteer organization since her employer and the organization recently formed a partnership, and the Booth conference that I attended for work.

The only problem is that she seemed to be very good in poker or acting, leaving me in awe of her awesome poker face. Nevertheless, I'm doing my good luck dance and keeping my fingers crossed!

Best of luck! What kinds of questions did she ask you?

The typical:
Why MBA?
Why now?
Why Booth?
Walk me through your resume.

My questions were standard.

Walk me through your resume
Why MBA
Why Booth
What will you contribute towards Booth

Mine came out to be exactly 28 minutes with 2 minutes for questions to ask:
What do you like and dislike about Booth?
How did you manage the courses given a very flexible curriculum?

Hope this helps!

I was dinged this week by Booth. Sigh. Looks like I will be a re-applicant this coming summer.

Sorry to hear that, gkumar. You don't have any other apps you're waiting for?

I've not heard from HBS, Stanford, and NYU since January. Considering the months of silence since then, I don't have high expectations. :-\

After I hear the expected response from the schools, I think I might start a post to discuss my profile and see what improvements I can make from now through late summer to enhance my re-application to my schools. I'm sure all the advice and suggestions then will be very helpful.

I did, and the applications are complete, but I've not heard anything about my applications ever since. I called them and they said my applications are under review. I've read online reports of other people being dinged or having interviews, but I have not heard a response since January.

Also, for the three schools, I sent them an update letter regarding updates in my professional and volunteer endeavors. They acknowledged it and included it in the app for review (HBS did not however due to a policy of freezing an app upon submission).

So all I can do is wait until the notification dates. :-\ This means I will likely have to reapply and somehow upgrade my profile from now to late summer for Round 1 again.
