At the candy shop, Calvin purchased 24 chocolate bars and 10 gumdrops. If the cost of each chocolate bar is ten times the cost of each gum drop, what percent of the total purchase price was the cost of all of the gum drops?

price of chocolate bar = x
price of gumdrop = y
x = 10y
total purchase = 24x + 10y = 24(10y) + 10y = 250y
cost of gums = 10y
Therefore:
cost of gums/total purchase
=10y/250y
=1/25
=4%
