OG 12 Diagnostic Test

by JasonReynolds » Fri Jul 24, 2009 4:47 pm
I'm not sure if the OG 12 and OG 11 Diagnostic tests are the same or not, but I was wondering if other people had taken it, and how they felt about the difficulty level, and if there was anything they should read into their results? Its not really a diagnostic test for me, since I've been studying for a while...I just wanted to delay taking my last GMAT Prep test. Figured i take GMAT Prep 2 next weekend, and the real test August 8th.

Anyways, here were my numbers:

Reading Comprehension 17/17; 20 minutes
Critical Reasoning 17/17; 36 minutes
Sentence Correction 15/18; 28 minutes
Average 1.6 minutes per question

Problem Solving 21/24; 56 minutes
Data Sufficiency 24/24; 32 minutes
Average 1.8 minutes per question

Clearly I ran a bit long on critical reasoning and on Problem Solving, but I made up for it on some of the other sections. the CR and PS questions were unusually involved and mentally fatiguing.

The Data Sufficiency seemed abnormally easy. Reading comp and SC were right on target. Anyways, any thoughts would be helpful. Kind of nearing the end of my studying, and I'd just like to max out my Quant score, and improve SC slightly.

I thought those tests were easier than the actual exam so I wouldn't rely on or read too much into the results. Your score and timing on the GMATPrep tests are much better estimation and analysis tools.

I just started taking the diagnostic test and gave up! It killed me completely. I think that one can learn a lot from these questions, but I would save these questions for later; I wouldn't use them as a "diagnostic" tool since this test killed my self confidence.

i so agree with you. i tried solving these questions to know where i stood but i found them quite difficult and ended up on mere guessing. so like him i also shall be solving these tests at either the mid of test prep or in the last month.
