Took the gmat over the weekend and I am preplexed, confused and dazed. Not sure what happened and how I ended up in the 20th percentile on verbal. On my practice exams (gmat prep and manhattan gmat cat exams), my scored ranged between 50-70%ile; and my quant ranged from 30-45%. However, on my actual gmat- my quant was 50th percentile and my verbal, a lousy, 20th percentile and overall score of a very pathetic 31% - 490. I am in total disbelief. Did manhattangmat boosted my score somehow?

I really don't know how it happened!

Anyone else experienced this?

Sorry to hear about your situation. Try to not waste time thinking about if a test prep company inflated your score or anything else that is really out of control. The fact of the matter is that there is variability in scores for everyone. While these scores do seem to be outside your range, it might have just been an off day, which happens unfortunately.

The real question is where do you go from here? I assume that you plan on taking it again, so the best place to start would be a diagnostic exam to see what specific areas your are struggling with and focus on those. If you want some help, feel free to PM me. Good luck!

The same happened to me.

Did you do the ManhatansPreps or GmatPreps more than 2 times? Maybe you already knew the answers and inflated your "real score".

Also, if you felt nervous at the exam you probably will be lose around 20%

So.. dont panic and practice more without repeating problems.
