Addressing GPA?
This topic has expert replies
My question to you guys is whether or not I should health issues in my bschool essays. On one hand, I think it would be helpful to mention this to explain my low GPA and also I think it shows some perseverance to overcome my illness. On the other hand, i know all the bschools are big on "image" and not sure how well they would react to someone who has had a past mental health problem. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi H,
Thanks for your post. That is a tough question. This is good material for the optional essay. However, rather than talking about your panic attacks, I would talk about how you encountered some family issues (you can be vague here) and therefore your GPA dropped. Basically you are providing an explanation for your GPA drop.

N
