Hello All,
I gave my gmat in 2009 december. I scored 550, which gave me enough shock to keep away from it almost 1 year now.
I am desperate and wanting to attend 2012 fall classes in top MBA college in USA.
The first time I gave, i had opted for self study. I was quite travelling then, and i feel this was the one among the reasons for the dibacle.
Guys please let me know what i have to do now? Shall i opt for any coaching ? What should be my stratergy ?. Of course I have ample time now, say 9 months roughly.
Thanks
saiki
Need help to reach from 550 to 700

Since you're targeting at Fall 2012, you have plenty of time with you.
Before you start preparing again, I'd suggest that you take a GMATPREP test so that you know where do you stand now.
On the basis of the score you get, you may want to formulate a strategy. If you're weak in say Verbal, you may need to focus on that more as compared to Verbal.
As far as joining a classroom program is concerned, it can be beneficial provided the instructor is good .A lot of people prepare by themselves and get good scores. A classroom program helps you maintain consistency.
Regarding the books, you may want to surf here on the forum and see what books did people use.
Keep us posted about your progress!

Hey Saiki,
I think you have plenty of time bro. I think you should set up a full plan ahead of time and stick to it. Just remember that a lot of people have been in your shoes before and rocked a 700 score after getting a much lower score. PM me if you have any question bro and good luck!

Hello Saiki123,
As you have already attempted the GMAT in 2009.
First thing , I would recommend you to do is self-analysis ===
At that time you scored 550:
Think, as if you are writing a debrief for all of us.
What went wrong ?
Your preparation style, sources, resources ?
What was your game plan, if you didn't had one - what issues did you faced during the real GMAT, or what you can use as a foundation for your game plan ?
What are your strong and week areas related to Quant, Verbal, Mental Stamina ?
Classroom training can be beneficial , if you are a working professional === but first you should really think on the above questions.
Good Luck !

Hi All,
Today was a disappointing day I gave GMAT and scored a 530.
My GMAT score: 530 Q-45, V-19.
I have read many success stories of people retaking GMAT and realizing their dreams on this particular forum.
I know with diligence and perseverance I would also be able to achieve the magic figure of 700!!
But, for the same I would need some piece of advice and guidance on verbal section, as verbal has always been the area of concern for me.
Please help me.
Looking forward for your reply.
Thanks and regards,
G
