by anksm22 » Sat Nov 15, 2014 1:50 am
I am retaking the GMAT and in my previous attempt I took GMAT PREP mock, manhattan mock . If I will use the same mocks it will give me inflated score . Please tell me which mock series I should use.

Thanks in advance

Yes, retaking the mock tests at this point is not of much help. Have you already taken the two additional CATs that are part of the Exam Pack 1 extension of GMATPrep software? I would use those. For quant GMATFocus diagnostics are an option, although they are not the best because they give a range as opposed to an exact scaled score, but still they are better quality than any third party test prep tests.

Cheers,

You should also consider purchasing the two additional GMATPrep exams. $50 U.S. is expensive for just two exams, but they are official practice tests so they are worth it. These are in addition to the two free tests that you already used.

Have you tried the Veritas Prep practice tests? You can try one for free at https://www.veritasprep.com/gmat/free-gm ... tice-test/ ?

If you need additional tests Veritas has a set of tests for sale as well (in addition to the free exam).

Hi anksm22,

From your original post, it's not clear if you took ALL of the available CATs from mba.com and from MGMAT. It sounds like you took 2 of the Official CATs (there are 2 others for purchase, as the other posters have pointed out), but did you take just one MGMAT CAT or did you take ALL of them?

There are groups of CATs that can be purchased from Veritas and from Kaplan, just remember that taking lots of CATs is NOT how you'll become a strong Test Taker. A CAT is a "measuring device" - it gives you an approximate score and points out your weaknesses, but real improvement comes from doing practice problems, honing your skills/timing and THEN taking a CAT to measure all of those skills.
