references

by Koraljka de Carina » Sat Apr 17, 2010 3:46 am
I would like to apply for the GMAT Scholarship. I am an international applicant and wandered if I should put the e-mail for my references as well as their phone numbers?

What kind of questions should the people I provide as references expect and what is the time frame they might be contacted (I have a reference that will be travelling abroad extensively)

Thanks for the question--we prefer a phone number instead of reference. Please let your references know that they may be contacted between May 20-30. We don't always contact references, but do reserve the right to do so if we encounter a questionable claim or would like to validate a character reference.

Hope that you apply! All the best,

Eric

What type of references you would like? peers? professional? friends? academic? I hope you can clarify.

Surely there'll be significant number of international applicants.
What if the reference doesn't speak English?
is it acceptable?

Unfortunately we will need English-speaking references.

Hello everybody,

I am highly interested in applying for the scholarships. However, as an entrepreneur, I am a bit screwed up concerning the references.

What people would you recommend to take in my case? Of course, I could give you some customers, but while they do not know too much about me and my characteristics, they probably do not want to be contacted in that way.

Any suggestions here?

Looking forward to your reply.

Kind regards
Stefan

Do you have any peers or former colleagues you can turn to? We are relatively liberal in accepting references, we simply want to have a means to back up claims if we see something crazy! :)

Do I need to provide any further information on my references? Thank you in advance for your answer!

Not beyond what we currently ask in the application. Thanks and good luck!
