Mgmat site Down !! :-(

by adi_800 » Mon Oct 17, 2011 9:50 pm
Hi,

I was giving my second test on Mgmat today on 18th Oct, 2011 and after doing 3 or 4 questions on of quant, the site went down and I m not able to start with the test.. I called Mgmat thru skype but they say that we are closed for the evening.
When the site will be up ?? I am using google chorme browser but that wont make any difference as I am unable to open the site on internet explorer too..
I want to start with the exam as early as possible. I do not want to waste my leave taken for this test..
Also, please confirm whether my data of the test is saved or not..
My log in ID is [email protected]
Hoping to get the response as soon as possible.

Mgmat needs to make sure that the problems such as Site is down do not occur at all especially in busy months such as August to December... I am sure there would be at least 10 users currently affected !!

Hi,

I was able to give the exam afterwards... Due to this site problem, I was not giving test for 5 minutes in between..
Regarding the score, I got 720 (Q47/V41)..
I was not at all happy with my Quant performance on the test... I got 48 last time and was trying to move towards 49-50.. But the difficulty level in quant was such that I could not dedicate enough time to last questions and could not solve the last few questions properly... The break in between had nothing to do with the low score in quant...
I wanted to know about the difficulty level of quant.. How much this scoreo f 47 should translate into on the real day.. I want quant to be 49 so that I can inch closer to 700...

Also, in verbal, I got 12 wrong (SC - 1, RC - 5, CR - 6)... I do not think actual gmat will allow 12 wrong in verbal and still give a score of 41 in verbal.. What's Mgmat expert's take on this one ??

Hey,

Scores on the GMAT are not based on the percentage of questions answered correctly. On the GMAT, everybody answers different questions, some easier, some harder. You can think of the GMAT as a test that searches for each person's "60% level," or the difficulty range in which the person is able to answer approximately 60% of the questions correctly. (This is not exactly what happens, but it's a good way to think of the difference between "regular" tests and computer-adaptive tests.) Your score will be determined by the difficulty of the questions that you answer correctly versus the difficulty of those that you answer incorrectly.

Hope this helps.
