MBA with a strong marketing focus

by Spartan237 » Sun Jul 12, 2009 2:16 am
Hi Everyone,

Firstly my profile

Nationality : Proudly Indian :-) (moved out when 17, have lived in Australia and have work experience in marketing in Shanghai, China and QATAR AND Kuwait in the Middle East)

Age: 26

Undergrad : Reputed Aus university with Honours (1st class honours - 81%)

GMAT:
660 :-( - Taken once

Work Ex - 4 years in Market Research / Marketing (mainly FMCG products)

My query

Does international experience count for anything? I am looking for a program with a strong in Marketing. Not a big fan of the multidiscipline approach (like Yale - def. won't get in with that GMAT SCORE anyway ) .. What MBA programs do you thing I should consider?

Hi S,
Kellogg is often ranked as the top Marketing program. However, most top MBA schools have strong Marketing programs. However, another way to look at marketing programs is based on their region and the companies that recruit from the school. For example, if you are interested in Tech Marketing - Haas is a great option as they have excellent placement into Tech firms in the Bay Area.

Regards,

N
